47 Minutes
Paul Millen works at a bank it’s a solid job. He’s the manager but in his spare time he reconstructs nissan engines. He owns a small repair shop in his garage specializing in nissan engines. Some ricers come in for turbo installation in there SR20’s to make there drift cars have a bit more boost. He makes good money with both these jobs enough to support himself living alone in Coronado. On the morning of September sixteenth two thousand and nine Paul’s life changed. He woke up fairly early at six thirty to work on a transmission from a KA24 that came in on the tenth . His job at the bank started at eight thirty on the dot. So a few minutes after eight he drove down the coronado bridge to get over to downtown San Diego.
He pulled into to the underground garage and a five minutes before being late he walked in. He was “working” but mostly looking at parts for his car. He took pride in his car considering his family was really never there for Paul and he had no wife or girlfriend to come home to. It was the only thing he really had. He competes in local races drag and drift and is trying to get his car in photo shoots for magazines. While looking at parts specifically intake manifolds Paul got tired. Paul picked the wrong day to be sleeping at his job. As he sleeps two men are driving around the block of the bank. In the trunk of there armored G55 Mercedes wagon are two fully automatic military grade M16’s, Two .38 revolvers, one fifty caliber sniper rifle with a thermal scope, Two ceramic plated bullet proof vests, and more ammunition then they will ever need. They park outside plan there escape and entry routes.
One of them walks into the bank dressed in casual clothing goes into to make a deposit. He stays for a while walking around scouting out the security cameras and where the main tech room with all the controls to these cameras is. He walked back out Paul woke up and spotted the man. Feeling pretty nervous sat at his desk on edge after seeing one of the men walk in. Feeling scared he asked his friend/desk-mate Ben “Did you see that guy” Ben replies “Yea he looked pretty scary oh well so do most ouf our costumers”. About 20 minutes later Paul starts getting more calm thinking he left. He walks toward the safe filled with money to deposit money. The two men in the G class get out gear up in there armor and walk in to the building.
Paul is about to close the safe when he hears two gun shots. Thinking fast he pulls the fire alarm as soon as he spots the two men with the guns coming towards him. He runs to the security office to find to security officers dead. He sneaks around the back of them and goes in behind the shooters and hides under a desk. The two gunmen shoot every single camera before getting seen by any of the camera because they cleverly hide behind a wall. Everyone in the office is down on the ground fairly aware of what’s going on but unaware of where it’s coming from. It’s never happened here before the only time something like this happened at another branch in La mesa.
Someone on the floor above heard gunshots and called police. One of the accountants from upstairs tries running down the stairs to see what’s happening. One of the men hears footsteps turns around and the accountant is shot dead on the stairwell. One of the Gunmen runs to the window and pulls out his sniper waiting for police positioning himself where the only access point to the building is. Police and swat teams come within ten minutes of the call. The gunmen fires two shots one hits a officer in the shoulder and another striking a police cruiser into the head light He continues to fire hitting one officer in the leg and one in the hand about to fire at him.
On top of a building across the street a sniper for the swat is targeting the shooter the gunmen quickly throws a smoke grenade causing the police snipers vision. The police sniper fires one shot hits the window next to the shooter. He moves to another spot shoots a swat officer in the bulletproof vest, He lives through the shot but with broken ribs from the power of the bullet. News teams show up with helicopters and econoline vans filming as they drive by the shooting. Meanwhile the other gunmen is taking hostages and putting them in the safe after the money has already been stolen. Paul has managed to hide under a table in the corner of the building. Paul knows that since he is the only one free from being found dead in a safe he knows he has to act fast. He knows if the police storm in the hostages will be killed. He calls the cops speaking quietly tells him to not bring his men in or they will be killed and so will the hostages.
In the plan the bank robbers next move was to escape out that back with all the money. This didn’t work out very well since cops have surrounded the building. The G class is still parked around the back cops have no idea that is the robbers car. The robbers being clever they tell two of the hostages that are similar size to them to remove there clothes they then take there clothes and are now dressed in normal clothing. The hostages end up switching clothes and taking the robbers armored vests and give the hostages empty guns for obvious reasons.
The robbers put duct tape over there own mouths and walk out of the building. The cops are fooled thinking they are two of the hostages. Paul being the only one not locked inside the safe calls the cops and runs unlocks the safe and runs to the garage. The robbers in the G class take off and are heading down the five south toward the border. Paul screaming at the officer in command “Close the five south the robbers just escaped in normal clothes there heading to Mexico!” The officer doesn’t believe what just happened and is not open to hearing it from a civilian. The cops argues with him and believes that if they come in and find out if they really left they will be killed. Paul daring the police officer says “go ahead find out then!”
The cops come in with riot shields and see the two hostages dressed up in the bank robbers clothes and shoot sandbag shotguns at the two hostages they hit the ground and are terrified. The cops find that they are not the robbers and immediately call Paul back. Paul who is already chasing the G class going way over the speed limit in attempt to slow them down. Lucky for Paul and the San Diego Police he brought a fast enough car to catch up with them to chase them in. The driver of the G class is not to experienced slamming on his brakes when he cant make it through a gap between traffic. Police close down the freeway immediately but it seems to late the car is already a few miles from TJ.
Not all police were notified of the bank robbery. The Chula Vista and National City unit show up on the freeway about five cars get on the closed freeway. And are chasing after Paul and the robbers The police eventually show up considering the G class still has a electronic speed limiter that the robbers were unaware of. The Police catch up and are weaving behind the car.
Paul gets in front of the robbers swerving causing them to slow down. The police creep up behind in attempt to shoot out the G class tires. One officer hits the left rear to only find out that the car is equipped with a special tire called run flats. Meaning once something punctures them they can still go at fifty miles a hour for about one hundred miles. The cops call the border patrol to bring up the barricade. This barricade is made of extremely hard metal to make sure nothing can break it down it rises to about eight feet. They come up as soon as the G class is coming towards it.
The robbers see this grab there guns and the money and jump from the car. They roll a few times to come up and as soon as they get up shoot any cop driving near them. The G class smashes the barricade. One turns around a bolts for the border throws and is about to make it when he is shot in the leg by a officer who chases him down. The same officer is then shot in the back of the head by the other robber. Paul takes advantage of the wounded but not yet dead robber. Still in his car decides no better way to get this guy out of America better yet this world by killing him. He drives up and runs the robber over killing him on impact. The other robber see this and before the officers can get to him and arrest him takes his own life about 20 feet from his “attempted” escape.
Paul had done it the safe was opened the hostages were freed The robbers were both dead as and the money was returned to the bank. Paul received a large payment for the assist in the robbery. He came home to news teams asking questions about will they come back to kill you? Why would you try to hide? How did all those other people die was it your fault? He is walking towards his house when he is greeted by two men in black suits and sunglasses inviting him to get in a Lincoln town car. Paul gets in the car and reveals in his duffle bag millions in stolen cash. Before the banks look over the not destroyed camera security footage tapes to reveal his guilt .Paul by that time was already out of the U.S.
